I have seen all kinds of bores in my life, shiny, rotten, coroded, but never a dark blue bore that I see looking down the barrel of my newly acquired almost NIB S&W M39-2.

Is this correct, or am I just seeing things at my old age?

I just checked my M39-2, and although mine is not new, the grooves are still a nice blue. I have all of the paper, original box, wax paper, etc. with mine and it is in very good condition. Purchased LNIB in 1995. Would you mind saying what you had to give for yours. I'm just curious about current value.

VASvyr, look on the next page at my other thread, M39-2 by Armyphotog and it will give you all the information on my purchase.

To my knowledge the 39 no dash and -2 had blued bores. I'm not sure why since the revolvers produced at the same time were left unblued, but I guess it is what it is. Maybe it was a feature before its time as the SW99 and M&P series also has blued barrels.
