M49 just acquired

I just acquired a model 49. I am trying to date it. I have a second edition of SCSW but I have not been successful. Any help would be appreciated. S/N 58715x

The M49 and M38 are the best pocket pistols ever produced IMHO.

Without a serial number, the best we can do is say that if it has the model number, it's after 1956. If it has a pinned barrel, it's 1982 or earlier.

The -1 of the model 49 came about in 1988. The -2 was 1990. To get any closer the SN might be helpful.

The 38/49/649 are great pocket guns, as well as ankle holster or purse carry. Shown: 649 and 38, both no-dash.

They are a great "Little" weapon to have around.

For some odd reason the two M49 that I have start out the serial number with;

ACMxxxx & ADWxxxx, that I picked up in 2011.
