I have a magazine for my M52-2 that suddenly is producing jams on the 4th round. The cartridge goes halfway into the chamber and sticks. I've taken the magazine apart and cleaned it, oiled liberally, and replaced the spring with a spare, still in the package, that I bought with the pistol several years ago. It still jams, and my other four magazines still function flawlessly. The offending mag has not been dropped, doesn't look bent, looks the same as the rest. What to check now?

I have a Michell Citation 11 that jammed I googled the problem and found a site that gave dims. for the width between the lips mine was off I made it to the specs. stated. In your case I would get a caliper and measure the other 3 mags and see if theres any difference other than that I dont know. I have a 52-2 with 4 mags and they are 21 years old and have been in PPC shooting with no problem. But the 4th one is a puzzler, you might try mixing follower or springs.

Thanks for the ideas. I actually did measure the width between the lips, and they are within the limits of the working magazines. Maybe I'll try swapping springs and followers and see if that transfers the problem. Interestingly, I ordered two new S&W magazines from MidwayUSA. One jammed so much I couldn't use it, the other jammed about every 10th round. I sent them back for exchange. You'd have thought brand new magazines would be trouble-free.
