M57 Question

I know this gets asked a lot here but I am really curious as to when my recently acquired M57 was produced... I have no means to research it myself and I know many of you are very knowledgeable about this sort of thing here so could someone please tell me about my revolver sn: S3197xx

The revolver is in near perfect condition and appears to not have been shot much, if at all. I have not shot it myself... not because I don't want to but because I can't find ammo for it and I have yet to order the dies and bullets for it. I have only managed to find 100 pieces of Winchester brass at Sportsmans Warehouse. I do get this beauty out and admire it every so often though, its an awesome piece of machinery.

Nice 57. I have an *S* 57. Easily my most prized revolver so far, until I buy a *Pre* Model 29 with Cokes.

Your Model 57 was most likely shipped in latter half of 1969.

I'd like to see that too! That's the fun of a forum, to exchange stories, tell tales, etc.
I found this beauty (M57 no dash, 1979-1980) for $500 in a town fifty miles away, and this was just a few months ago.

This town has a waiting period, so I took a chance and ordered brass, bullets and dies before I even owned the gun! The price of .41 mag ammo is ridiculous, if you can find it at all, so when I found brass, I grabbed 1,000 cases. I have not regretted it.
