M60 3" 38 spec - ?

This one is a 60-4, comes with standard black syn. grips and now lives at my house! I got a chance to shoot it a few times on Sunday and I think it is going to be a favorite.

One thing I'm noticing is that all of those pictured in this thread have non stainless case colored target triggers. This guy has a stainless wider than normal trigger and it is more curved than standard. Net effect.... the extra curvature pinches my finger during shooting. This was getting old after only a few cylinder fulls. Does anyone know - does Smith still sell the regular case colored target triggers?

I guess I'll have to start looking for some classier grips too - synthetic is comfortable but UGLY! Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help in deciding to buy this classy little Smith - it's neat.

The M-60-4 came with either chromed or standard, color case-hardened hammers and triggers. I think the shape was the same. Mine has colored ones, but I used to own the other. Had to sell the gun, alas, but it wasn't due to the trigger, etc. Just needed the money badly.

Theoretically, the flash-chromed ones are probably less subject to rusting, but I've had no trouble with the other.
Normal maintenance seems to deal with the issue. But I do check my guns frequently.

I have another J frame with case colored target trigger and the curvature is markedly different! If this is chromed then I don't suppose there is any way to alter it either....

Model 60-4

I am fortunate to have one of each of the model 60-4 and the 36-6. My 36-6 is unfired and will stay that way.

The model 60-4 is a great shooter as others members have said. I have also found that this makes a great defensive gun, especially for someone "not into guns". The 3" barrel and adjustable sights on these guns make them much easier to shoot than the 1 7/8" barrel snubbies, but they are still small, fairly light, and easy to handle.
