I’ve found a nice 650 locally. Seller wanted $800, but went to $750. I wouldn’t carry it for SD, so besides being cool looking, is there any practical use for it? GB shows em selling for $1k and above. What’s a real world price?

Thanks

$750 is a very good price for one if you want it. To me, not so practical but they are sought after. Good luck in your decision.

Great price for one. I have a Model 51, loud to the point I had a .22 LR cylinder fit to it.
The perfect use for it would be as a fisherman's gun in snake country. .22 Magnum is pretty effective for that purpose.

Yes, $750 is a great price.
I have a 650 and a 651. No idea why I wanted them besides the fact that they're a bit scarce. One came from a gunshow. The other came from Proxibid. No doubt I could sell them for more than I have in them, so they're just part of the "401G" plan.

That’s a great price for a 650 if you want one.

Mine came with the extra factory fitted .22lr conversion cylinder which for me was extremely practical as it is the gun both my sons learned to shoot a revolver with.

Here is a picture of my youngest son below about 5 years ago at Rodman’s neck with the 650.

For those of us who remember our fellow forum member IBSandy who passed way too soon I know he smiles looking down when ever my sons and I shoot a few boxes each through it because it was originally his gun.

It’s a 3” J frame buy it you will enjoy the gun.

Your 650 will also shoot .22WRF rounds if you can find some. They were made for Winchester 03 rifles, a shorter .22 Mag if you will. I bought some for that purpose hoping they wouldn't be as loud. (I haven't tried them yet).
Enjoy your new revolver!
