I recently picked up a clean used 67-5 and everything about it seems ok except the 5.5 lb single action pull. I ordered a Wolf spring kit for it. This is the first time I have opened up a newer S&W, one with the lock and the MIM parts. I've mostly read negative comments about the newer revolvers and didn't know what to expect. The last S&W's I opened up were a couple of 624's I bought in the late 80's. I was pleasantly surprised with the internal fit and finish of the 67 and think it's far superior to the 624's, they took a lot of polishing and the 67 needed none. I'm sure this will open a can of worms but from now on I will gladly buy a newer S&W. The new springs went right in and it's now at 3.5 lbs. I'll take it out back tomorrow to make certain it goes bang with a variety of primers.

I haven't had much luck with the Wolff hammer springs being reliable. You really have to use a longer strain screw with them.

I've had good results with the Wilson Combat main springs.
