Made in China Rant

B.A. Mason is an American company. They use to make all their shoes but not any more. Their boots generally are however, made in the USA. They also have a great selection of sizes and widths.

My experience with made in PRC footwear has been bad, period. Very poor quality.
I have bought 7 pairs of dress shoes from thrift shops recently, 1 pair Indian made, I made in Spain, the rest Italian made.

I bought a pair of Danner boots from Sierra. Figured they were a discontinued style. Made in CHINA, nothing is sacred. Shoulda figured $70 Danners weren't just unpopular. Joe

My new boss is from Michigan. I don't understand Michiganese.
My "boss" (wife) of thirteen years is from Michigan. The learning curve was steep, but I was "motivated" to learn to interpret quickly.

They have a real factory store right at the factory. Used to go there once a year, could always use something.

If you are in the area, stop in, it is worth it. Their shoes and boots are carried in the smaller independant shoe stores, good quality and made in N.C.,USA.

Mr Phil, my whole family knew lefty. I never paid the going prices. They always had returned boots etc, that we bought for a fraction of the price. Once I bought a pair of boots returned by the old braves player "Joe Addcock". Shortly after I was hitch hikeing in louisianna. A trooper picked me up, we got talking and when he found I was from wisconsin he told me joe adcock was his nephew. I pointed to my russell boots and said, wouldja belive I am wearing his boots?
I have a uncle still liveing that got permission to wear russells when he was overseas in world war two. He also was ordering a few pair for other officers he said.
Paul, we talked before, and I mentioned you to my aunt helen riley. She thought she knew you or your family at the furniture store. Probley you knew my cousins, harold and tim riley?

My thanks to all for the replys and great resources. I haven't climbed a pole since 1970 (VEPCO). Haven't packed a mule since 1964 (Philmont). Bought a pair of Justin peanut brittle Lizards two years ago.

I'm looking for rugged casual USA pull-on short/low boots. Anybody? Muchas gracias amigos!
