What’s the earliest ship date anyone has on a hand ejector (or Third Nodel Perfected Single Shot pistol) revolver with “Made in U.S.A.” on the frame?

As always, photographs and factory letter data is welcome.

From my notes, MADE IN USA stamping was ordered in May 1922 around SN 405,000 for the K frame, one example found without stamp shipped in June 1922. The only thing I have close is 384,XXX, shipped May 1921 without the stamp.

I do not believe that all models would have changed at the same time, since many changes made to a K or N frame were not applied to an I frame at the same time. I have a 22/32, SN 360,XXX, that shipped in 02/1923 without the stamp.

Now that we know this, when did the one line address stop and the multi line address begin? It would be nice to have this in one thread for reference. As always, thanks in advance!

I’ve not seen any models shipped with made in USA prior to late 1922/early 1923. This is typically the case with changes. Old inventory is already in use and new parts with the change don’t get manufactured and into the process for quite some time.

The 4 line roll marked address was ordered in 1946 IIRC but again, doesn’t show up on the guns for sometime.

The 4 line address began in 48.
Yes. About the same time the High Speed hammer came into use and when the S prefix ended and the C prefix began. I've never seen an S prefix M&P with the four line address and only a very few C prefix M&Ps had the one line address.

Somewhere I have the date and number of the change order. I'll see if I can find it.
