Didn't get online yesterday, but I did make it home. Man, was that an adventure.
My doctor did well. Got the new knee in and I don't have bruises all over, my incision is covered with one bandage about 3x8, the nurse said she didn't think he used any staples
on the outside and best of all.. he left my joy juice button connected until I started getting ready to come home yesterday.
My nurses were great. Can't say I had a second of any problem out of them. Just love them all.
Even the pt folks didn't cause too much pain. That first 10 ft Wed. morning was kinda ruff.
Worst parts of the whole deal was the hospital grewell, airline food is gormet compaired to this stuff. Had a Vampire roam through betweeen 3:30 and 4:30 each morning. It was very hard to sleep through him taking blood at that time of day.
Oh well time to flex the leg some more and take a nap.
Thanks to all for the prayers

Great to hear that all went well.
Congrats on getting outta there, too.
Hospital is the worst possible place to rest - DAMHIK!
Now, keep stretching!

Good to hear you made it home so soon. I had four days in the hospital and another six days at a rehabilitation center before I made it back home. I wish you well with the PT; I am still going to a rehab center three days a week, my surgery was two months ago.

Get back up and at em' real soon. Glad the surgery went well
for you sir.

Welcome home Gimpy. ;)

Seriously, bless you and the medical staff, I prayed for you and a successful outcome.

Glad you are home sir. There are only two things you should do to recover, work the knee and of course, work the knee. In between workouts on the knee, this forum is here to keep your mind occupied. Then, work the knee again!

Oldiron's new knee

It is always good news when someone becomes bionic and it works the way its suppose to. Wish for you continued improvement and good health!

Boy, If the le aggencies had that little 100 lb phy therapist working for them that did my therapy Sat afternoon I bet their armomy budget could get cut in half. It took all of two seconds for me to holler uncle. Yep, she went over all the exercises, no biggie, and then she got this plastic protractor looking thing out, set it along my knee and bent. Talk about seeing stars, i think i could actually smell and taste them. Something about 85 was a good bend but she had lost my attention by then, all I was wondering was if she had just wrung if off like a thankgiving drunstick.
For those who have been there done that just, wanted to remind you that getting old and losing your memory is not totally bad.

Larry,

I cannot testify from my experience but Mrs. Pawncop had both knees replaced several years ago. She HATED the folks in PT but did everything they asked, and then some.

Our home PT guy, in her words, was just as brutal as the hospital (insert bad words here), but she was a trooper and did what they said. The rewards were evident after a couple of weeks.

You have prayers from Texas for your complete healing and hopes for the best outcome.
