Magazine coating and maintenance.

I get heavy use of my 1911, Glocks, or other guns with factory stainless or polymer coated magazines. My magazines are dropped on rocks and dirt while training so they will get scarred and abrasions. With the above guns rust and such is not real issue.
Beside cleaning and applying some oil what finishes are people putting on their M&P magazines for added protection? Anyone have preferred home applied finishes or something that was done by a professional business that does gun coatings?

I just wipe my mags with a silicone gun cloth. All of my mags have various bare spots. (I put one in the ultrasonic cleaner with brass solution and it took the finish off to the bare metal, so don't do that. I dipped it in a bath of cold blue so it stands out from the crowd )
