I purchased my 15-22 on Thursday. Yesterday I put 50 rounds through it and another 25 today. I had 6 problems. Mostly it was rounds not properly stripped from the magazine resulting in the round being straight up in the magazine, all the way forward. It actually gets stuck this way and you have to strike it rather hard to knock it loose from the magazine. The other problems were rounds not chambering correctly. There was one FTE.

I am loading the magazine round by round as instructed. However, when viewed from the rear, the rounds appear just like they would in a double stack - almost side by side, not completely vertical like you would see in a 10/22 banana clip.

Am I doing something wrong?

The gun is a DTU and the manual has a blue star. The follower is orange. I was using Federal Champion bulk pack ammo.

Thanks for any tips you might have.

The rounds will appear to be almost side by side like a double stack mag.

I find that if you tap the back of your mag against the palm of your hand, it will help the rounds settle into place, and like Belt Fed will tell you run acouple of hundred rounds of CCI through it, then go back to Federal

Hope this helps and welcome to the forum

Thanks. I will give that a try. My wife really enjoyed shooting it. A lot. So much so I'm afraid I might be back to the 10/22.

This is the only problem I've had with my rifle. After a few thousand rds I've found that it only happens when rapid firing. Went through about 500 recently in a quest to rid the world of gophers. No rapid firing/no problems. Still shouldn't happen but that my 2 cents.
