Magazine storage

I have a question about how to store magazines. And it's not the repetitive loaded or unloaded question. I have 6 magazines for AR15, AR10, AK47, M1 carbine, AR15-22, STG44, 36 total. I searched the internet for something that would hold all these mags stacked by type or standing on end to no availe. I currently have them stacked in 6 neat little stacks but if they get bumped, it's like watching the dominos fall. I thought about building a wooden crate with adjustable cubbies customized to the size of each unique mag. I can't believe I'm the only one with this dilemma. Is there nothing available already made on the market?

I have a small stand in the bathroom where I keep my Gun magazines.

I keep my magazines in rubber maid boxes. They stack nicely next to my ammo.

I use Plano tackle boxes. They have movable dividers and work well.

I save various size cardboard boxes that I had items shipped to me in.One of those was a perfect fit for 15 AR15 mags double stacked laying on their side.I never know when I'll need a box for something.I would imagine even some ammo boxes are suitable for your needs.

The hard plastic cases that VHS tapes were in at the video store hold four 15-round M1 Carbine mags perfectly. You have to cut out that little teat that was supposed to go in the hold of the cartridge, to make sure it was in the case right.

I put some spare mags in a box and now I've misplaced it and can't find it again. I do better stacking them by type in my ammo cabinets and if I knock them over I just stack them up again.
Now that I'm running out of room I'll probably use an ammo box for future purchases but keep it say under my cabinets hanging on the wall so I can find them again.

Make your own

A utility knife, a straight edge, some wood glue and a little imagination and you can reconfigure any cardboard box to make exactly what you need.

To fold cardboard, wet the line to be folded, draw a dull instrument across the line to create a crease, then fold and allow to dry.

I like this but the variety of sizes are difficult to accommodate. Ar 10 are short and squatty. STG44 are about the same as AR15 but longer. MP40 (picking up tomorrow) are long and skinny.

Cardboard was suggested but too flimsy and lacking durability for loaded mags. As soon as my garage is cleared out I'll have to try the wood idea i have. Maybe give me a reason to buy a router.

Buy enough rifles to store each mag in a rifle?

Fully loaded and in zip-lock bags with a desiccant pack. If the mag takes a full box of ammo (ar-15 20 rounders), I'll cut the end off the box with the lot number and throw that in the bag too.

I cycle through the ammo pretty regularly so a desiccant isn't necessary. I like the wooden box idea cause I can grab the whole box at once and toss it I the car if I'm pressed for time. For going to the range I have a couple Voodoo rifle bags to carry them.
