Hey guys and ladies of the Smith & Wesson forums I have a question for you I have a Aimpoint Comp M4 2MOA and always wanted to purchase a magnifier for the Aimpoint red dot sight I am not sure which one to go with?

The Larue tall Comp M4 mount is for lower 1/3 co-witness. Not sure what height your red dot is at now. The height difference is only 0.19", so I don't think it would make much of a difference in how much you would would need to lean down. Personally, I went with the tall mounts because I prefer lower 1/3 co-witness.Getting a taller mount for my Aimpoint red dot sight is it going to be worth it in the long run or just wasting my money? Also what is better leaving the sight short level or buying a high mount to make it higher? Reason why I am asking I am 6'7 I have to lean my down some when looking down the red dot sight.
It is easy to magnify the object you are looking at. Although, unlike the red dot where you can see the dot even if you move your head around, you basically need to look in the center of the magnifier to see the dot. Also, magnifiers (and scopes) are set at a certain eye relief. Set your eye too close or too far away from the lens and you will see a shadow (forget the term) around the perimeter of what you are looking at.How do you like the Aimpoint 3x magnifier? How easy is it to magnify on the object that I am trying to focusing on?
My complaint against the Aimpoint is the lack of any mount....

I really like the ease of the Larue QD Pivot mount and it is high quality. Can't go wrong with their stuff.
My Aimpoint Magnifier came with the stock twist mount (which I didn't care for). But I did see it sold as a stand-alone as well.
Yeah, I definitely wouldn't have paid money for that mount... but it was free. I got mine in my "spare parts box" now. Mine came with a nice MOLLE carrying case to store the mount after you twist it off. I use the case for other stuff. But yeah, that twist off mount is a dumb idea... Still better than nothing I suppose.I've got the 'twist mount' too, but it certainly didn't come with the unit!!
It's going back to MidwayUSA.
Twist mount w/spacer ring, $215+.
I opened it, played around with it, put it back in the box and ordered a LaRue Cantilever for the Pro, and LaRue's flip mount for the AP 3X.
When removing the 3X with the twist mount, what you gonna do with it? Put it in a pocket w/no lens covers?? Drop it on the ground? Just dint make much sense to me.
Ha ha! As I have always said "if I could type I'd be a secretary instead of an engineer". If somebody else had not invented a spellchecker I would have.I got a sightmark 5x on mine I think they fixed the mount issue because this mount is stiff but moves smoothly 114.00 dollars
