So basically do you like yours? Is it worth the money? I feel like more than $20 is too much.

I bought one for my 15-22. I have never liked the feel of a vertical fore grip and I always ended up holding the grip at the top near the fore grip on an angle, pretty much the way the AFG is.

I liked it so much, I got one for my AR-15. They are plastic, but mine has held up well.

Do I really need to spend the extra money to get the real version instead of the airsoft PTS one?

But it might be a good idea if I ever want to switch it over to a 223

I used the AFG2 with success while I had the factory quad rail on my 15-22. Once I swapped it out for a longer modular Nordic handguard I found that the bare handguard tube was the preferred may to use it for competition.

i had it on , had it off , had it up front , had it near mag well , had it in the middle , now its on my m&p15, i am now using a short vfg on my 15/22, pghrich

Hi I have found that for bench shooting I don't use it at all...

However for any combat type of shooting:
Like for a run & gun or free standing / shooting at many targets

I like it very much over a VFG

Besides it has a cool factor to me ever since I saw it :o

As far as the material goes...its top notch grade plastic.

On Youtube there is a comparrison of the airosoft one to the magpul one

Read a lot of reviews and went PTS on this one. I wouldn't do that for most other accessories but for a non moving, solid plastic part, it didn't make a difference to me. I wouldn't hesitate to use it on my AR15 either.

^^^This. The AFG is just a solid chunk of plastic with a screw on fastener. No real moving parts. I wouldn't hesitate putting a PTS AFG on a 15-22.

I didnt like it, thought i would, now i just use a short normal frontgrip, i dont grip it, but put my hand against it.

+1

I tried an AFG on my 15-22 & 15-Sport. I really wanted to like it, but the angle doesn't work with my wrist. I now just use the Magpul VFG as a hand stop.

I don't like vertical fore grips for my shooting so I went with the AFG2 and it works well for me. $35 at one of my local stores.

Just about any grip you buy for $20 will be junk and you'll replace it before too long. You get what you pay for.

Personally, I was surprised by my initial impressions with the AFG.

I really thought I'd like it, but after using a buddy of mine's I really just didn't find it as comfortable as I thought I would.

I found I really prefer just using my standard handguard (no vertical grip or AFG). I found I had better control for the way I grip and handle my rifle.

Not saying it's not a good product, I think the best thing to do (if it's an option) is to try it out or at the very least handle it a little bit before you buy.

I have to admit though, I think they look pretty smart.

I have one on my Noveske and use it to make sure my hand it in the same position every time. I haven't tried it on the 15-22....I don' think I need it since I tend to wrap my fingers over the end of the hand guard.

I really Like the AFG2 grip

removed the VFG yesterday for practice with the Slide fire.... and i think i Like it better.... especially for the Slide Fire... works perfect

think I found mine for $16 on ebay......

wow mixed responses haha should have saw that coming. I guess ill try to find a way to give one a test run

Like most things, grips are other goodies are very personal. It's hard to tell someone else what they should get.

Yup...different strokes for different folks.

After less than an hour at the range with a vertical grip on my new 15-22, I realized my natural grip (pinching the handguard between thumb and index/middle fingers) was gonna be more comfortable with an angled foregrip. It works perfectly for me, filling my palm while allowing me a comfortable, natural grip.

I see what you mean. I imagine that I would really like it. it seems really comfortable. Where I shoot there are no benches or shooting tables so im always standing so I feel like it will help alot with shooting 25 rounds slow

I picked up the PTS AFG for my 15-22 and I love it. I know the PTS stuff is mainly used for airsoft but the quality is awesome and it's half the price. So for me the PTS AFG works out great.

 I got my Hogue hand grip for just around $20. The retail price for the item is not much more than $20. ?
Or.
Are you speaking strictly in terms of PTS?

I was speaking of fore end grips. I have a Hogue Pistol grip and love it. Most of the cheap fore end grips I have handled are just that cheap and poorly fitting.
