Ok, first I am newbe to this sight and new to the AR platform. I recently won a M&P 15 Sport from CalGuns.net. I have so far upgraded to a Magpul ACS stock, a Midwest Ind. Drop-in quad rail Gen2 model. Still to come MIAD grip, Light, optics, etc.

So to the topic of the Magpul BAD lever. (I couldn't find a thread on it) So here I am creating one. Is there any general concensis on it good or bad.
Please forgive any spelling errors.:D
No pictures yet.
Thanks

I have BAD levers on both of my rifles, they are real handy especially when changing mags, when the empty mag locks the bolt to the rear, you insert the new one and then with your trigger finger you just hit the lever releasing the bolt and putting the rifle back into battery. I wasnt too sure about them when I first thought about them but now that I am use to them I really like them.

The Magpul B.A.D. lever makes operating the rifle easier and more efficent. The B.A.D. lever is a convenience for me, not a necessity because I am used to operating a standard AR bolt release paddle.

With that being said, I have a B.A.D. lever installed in my two AR15's and on my 15-22. It's one mod that will go on all my AR type rifles.

Now the next thing you need is a B.C.M. Gunfighter charging handle to compliment the B.A.D. lever for enhanced, more efficient operation of your 15-Sport.

You can operate the bolt release with your right trigger finger and operate the charging handle with your left hand.

I would be remiss in pointing out a possible issue with the B.A.D. lever. The B.A.D. lever extends into the trigger guard, forward of the trigger. Some individuals advocate that nothing should be in the trigger guard but the trigger because of safety. I can see their point. This is something that you have to decide on for yourself.

Thank for the recommendation. ARs can be real money pits, oh well.
I would like to point out the Phase 5 and the Troy extended bolt levers are
straighter than the Magpul which bends slightly forward. Which a personal prefer because there is more space between the trigger and the lever.
Peace and Grace to all.

Thanks John, I have heard people talking about this, and had an idea what it did, but had never actually seen one. I'm where Grover was, not too sure about 'em, but I do respect both of you guys opinions. Could be a possiblility for me in the future.
Thanks again!

Nice addons especially you just made the purchase. Took me about 3 months to start adding to my rifle. What's your next upgrade?

I have a B.A.D. Lever installed on my DD M4V1. It is an awesome addition to an AR. I am looking at adding a BCM charging handle in the near future as well.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Like anything else having these devises means you have to train with them. I have both a B.A.D and an entended charging handle. If your going to use the B.A.D lever make sure you train with it and the conventional way you'll never know it my break when you need it most. may.

The B.C.M. Gunfighter Mod 3 is a nice addition, we use them here.

I just don't get the point of a BAD lever. Seems like a waste of money and time (no offense) and provides something to hang up. Now I will admit, there are a lot of things that I don't get. So maybe it's just me.

That GF charging handle does look sweet though!

The B.A.D. lever is polarizing. You either like it or you don't. Have you tried operating an AR15 with a B.A.D. lever? It usually takes trying one to see exactly why some of us like it.

No offense taken.

You said it looks like an accessory that something might get hung up on?

Question....wouldn't that over sized charging handle make it easier to get something hung up on it too?

When you think about it....your are kind of contradicting yourself. (no offense meant) :)

That all being said, the BAD is notably faster. In the training courses I attend, we perform testing under time constraints to induce pressure, anxiety, etc. (hard to do force-on-force with an AR-15) It easily shaves time off my times. Testing out at the top 1% of those that take the course....I'll take every advantage I can get. ;)

The B.A.D. Lever looks like you will be able to fix malfunctions easier and quicker(double feeds etc.).

Stu...I have the B.A.D. lever and an oversized charging handle and have yet (knock on wood) to have them get hung up on anything. I have them on both AR's. I do not notice the charging handle making charging any faster, but it does make it a lot easier to get a hold of with my big ol' scope, the other is an ambi and it makes it easier for my left handed wife to charge the weapon.
