Magpul CTR question

Hey guys,

Was thinking of ordering the Magpul Mil spec CTR stock my my MP15-22. Going back and forth between the CTR and MOE. One question, how does the friction lock actually work on the MP15-22 "buffer tube" and has anyone seen any wear with this friction lock?

Two little plastic tabs squeeze the tube when the lock is engaged. I haven't noticed any wear marks other than what the M4 style stock had already done. The MOE's barely have any wobble on the 15-22's tube when collapsed at least half way. If you like to leave it on 4, 5, or 6 they have a little wobble. That's one of the reasons I went with the CTR. The other reason is the QD sling socket on the back.

Understood, I bought standard version with the birdcage Feb '10 with the original stock. I was at the range over the weekend and it has a lot of play in any position and even a lot of movement front to back on the buffer tube.

I just received mine last saturday and wow. I like it a lot.

It was a b*tch to get on there, the lock is hard to pull down with just 2 fingers. (kinda hurt my fingers) but when its on you dont need it any more.

It slides really well, i like the locking function and there is zero wobble on mine.

Be sure to get the mil spec

The CTR is cheaper now that Magpul has released 2 new models. It was worth the $$ at the old pricing. At the new $$, it's an even better deal. It locks up very tightly...and I highly recommend the optional cheek adapter -well worth the extra $20.

I just put a CTR on my 15-22, was really debating between the MOE and CTR. I decided the 20 bucks was something I should spend for hopefully a little better product.

Was easy to install, not much harder installing it then removing the OEM stock.

I also don't really like having duplicate parts on things, I have a MOE 15-22 coming, and it'll have the MOE stock on it already.

Well, after having my MOE 15-22 for a bit, I notice the MOE butt stock is quite a bit tighter than the standard butt stock. Very little movement with it, what little there is, is mostly at full collapse and fell extension.
