hello. just bought my son a 15-22 and he wants to put some flat dark earth accessories on it. which magpul products are made for this rifle and which are the easiest to install. i want him to do all the work to teach him some responsibility. thanks.

Suggest you have him go to Magpul website and research it himself. That would get him totally involved in doing all the work. I can think of 10+ right off the bat, but several of these would be different versions of the same category of accessory (i.e. several versions of buttstocks available).

They're all pretty easy to install. I just ordered a foregrip, MIAD grip, stock, and vertical grip in FDE from Magpul and aside from having to go buy a long 3/16 allen wrench to take get at the nut in the hand grip everything was easy to swap out.

Here's a great site to buy from. Another member recommended them for their cheap prices, but I'll say their service is top notch, too.

Just remember there are the PTS (airsoft) version which is still Magpul and then there are the Chinese knockoff's almost everything on e*** some are real cheaply made but should still work for the 15-22..

Pls stay away from the PTS stuff.. Spend a lil more and not have to worry about it later.. Just my 2 cents

As already mentioned,stay AWAY from the "knock-off" parts esp. like sights. You do get what you pay for,but no sence waisting money either.

Great to see another Father bringing a son/daugher into this great American tradition.

the MOE stuff fits nice.i have the MIAD grip,MOE carbine butt stock,and mid lenght hand guard all in FDE.magpul stuff looks nice,feels nice,and functions like its supposed to.you might have to mod the grip if you use the MIAD grip.my rear spring that locks the rear break down pin in place fell into a groove thats on the inside of the grip and wasnt locking the pin in place.i super glued a small piece of plastic inside the grip under the spring and it works great.if you go with the MIAD grip and want to see what i did just shoot me a message and ill send you a pic or post one in your thread.my rifle looks just like the one in post #5 of this thread.
