This may seem silly to some, but is it worth the money to go to the magpul stock on the 15-22? I actually like the look of the stock, and the the different buttpads you can switch out to do make it more universal. I've put on a grip pod, some don't like them, but it worked good shooting off the bench at the range. I also changed the factory flash hider to the old style 3 prong, I just like the look of it. I'm ordering some extra mags today and looking for a decent red dot to put on it.

Seems to me you have already made up your mind.

I kept mine, i like the stock how it is.

You're right, but for now I think there are other things I could spend the $60.00 on that would be more useful, scope, etc. The stock one is ok, but a buttpad would probably be good for now, I appreciate your input.

Yea, that be it! LOL I guess I like to be comfortable when I shoot, but looks matter too.

The mil-spec Magpul stocks will fit right on the 15-22 tube. Cost about the same as 2200 rounds of Federal Bulk. (unless you go to higher grades of Magpul).

I think a huge part of this rifle is about looks. I say do what looks good and if its useful well then it a win, win

if you want to get rid of the play in your OE stock, get a magpul CTR. it the little bit of play doesn't bother you, then getting a standard milspec magpul stock is for looks only.

if the play in the OE stock is an issue, one or two well placed pieces of electrical tape will snug it up tight.

i forget who had it, but a guy got a CAA (i think) add-on for his OE stock and it looked pretty sweet for like $25.

I'll go out tomorrow and see how it works, it's a beautiful day today, but got things to do. I went to another walmart and they had Federal "target grade" in 325 bulk for $14.00, so I'll give em a try. The walmart by us only has Rem golds, they worked good in the 10-22, but that's it.

I am still considering the magpul stock also. The posts on here say that there is less wiggle which is what I want gone. The only problem I have is that the stock ( to me ) just looks a hair too big for the rifle. I think it looks good and i'm still considering it but I wish it was a hair smaller especially where the stock meets the rifle.

I never really noticed that, but it is a bit bigger, I just like the A shape to it. I'll just put the buttpad I have on it for now, for that heavy recoil like TC was ribbin' me about.

I say that because it's obvious that we like to dress up our ARs for functionality and for the tactical look. With all the money we saved on the rifle and ammo, we can spend on accessories, which leads back to looks. Not to say that this rifle is only for looks but I think it plays into it. What say you?

I don't know about all that. My 15-22 is a function only rifle.

To each his own, but it seems alot a fellows on this forum have the accessory bug, and its easy to catch! So watch out potential owners! lol
