I found a spot on ebay that has the Mako Magwell grips for $12.99 delivered, so in February I ordered one. Took a month to get here, came from Hong Kong but it is the real thing. I love the way it feels and with my bipod I get a very sturdy hold on my rifle. Here are the latest pics.

Looks like you're having a great time with the Sport. Why'd you switch back to the stock foregrip?

I have an eBay alert set up to send me emails when new AR parts/accessories are listed. Probably a bad move as far as my wallet is concerned. haha

It's two pieces held together by three screws. Take the screws out, then sandwich the magwell between them, then screw the to halves together.

On mine the screw on the trigger side took a little persuasion to get the two halves close enough together to engage the nut, but once it cinched up it fit fine.

I was expecting it to be a softer material, but it's a hard plastic.

Yeah it fit way easier, I went back to the stock foregrip because it gives me a more solid base for the bipod. I prefer the other foregrip and when I figure out the right bipod I will go back to it. This bipod belongs on my 8x57 mauser. I am just using it because I have it, and have already spent so much on the rifle. This month is reloading supplies, in fact in the last couple of days I have prepped 200 brass and have a little over a 100 to go. when I go to my doctors in wichita again I will pick up primers, CCI#41 Military 5.56x45 primers, and going to try to pick up that CFE223 powder and 70 grain bullets.
I have a new muzzlebrake supposed to be here tomorrow. But the CFO has let me know that I am spending too much on my Sport LOL

When I bought the Winchester I told my wife it was because I wanted to leave my son quality guns when I passed away. Hahaha.

Come to think of it, I spent a grand on my first 1GB hard drive back in the 90s, and that ended up in the trash a few years later. But all the firearms I've bought since 1984 are still in the safe so there's something to be said about buying durable goods. :)

I've been on the fence about buying one.
Holding the magwell vs holding the magwell grip.
I have two questions:
1. does it make a big difference?
2. does it change/impede the way one loads a mag?

Centurion, do you follow Nascar?

1. Yes it does make a big difference, I am able to get a lot firmer solid grip and the finger grooves seem to stabilize it.
2. Because the bottom is flared, and the inside is grooved to accept the lip on the magazine well, it actually makes it smoother and easier to put a mag in, where as the flaring lines up the magazine and sends it right into the slot.

If I can answer any other questions just ask.

Since I only have short 10-rd mags I was worried about seating them with the Mako installed. But it doesn't extend that far below the magwell to interfere. And it certainly wouldn't be a concern for anyone shooting hi-cap mags.

Thank you guys for the info. I'm definitely on the side of trying one out now. I was taught the only time you grip the magwell is when you're clearing a building. I'm comfortable with a close front grip because of the years I spent playing paintball.

I ordered mine off of ebay for 12.99 it took a month to get it but in the end it was well worth the wait.

I gotta get me one........I noticed I'm always looking to grip the mag well when shooting off a bench with a bipod. Hope it fits my MP-15 811000.......

they are supposed to fit all of them, certain states require full access to your guns serial number, in that case they make one with a cut out for the serial number.
