In IL I'm guessing you'd be cited for discharging a firearm in he city limits and of course you'd BETTER have in order your FOID card.

Sounds like one of the less quilified cops out there annoyed that a citizen had to catch the bad guy yet he'd have to deal with the paper work and book the guy.

Kind of rare for a judge to comment on an arrest before it comes before him.

well ya aint supposed to be scarin people with guns...if you cant justify the shooting dont shoot...but that aside, being arrested was rather dumb...but consider the bullett hitting a rock, skipping off someplace and killing some three year old playing in her back yard....how would that conduct be classified? I frankly dont believe in warning shots most times but sometimes they have a place.....tough call....he should not have been locked up

Good to hear. While some say a warning shot is not justified
i believe you have to be in that guys shoes to make that call.
It would'nt sit well with me to shoot a guy for burglary if my
life or family was'nt in jeopardy. But shooting a "warning" shot
can richochet or injure an innocent bystander. Tough call but glad
the charges we're dropped.
