man cave question

what would be the perfect man cave?
reinforced concrete walls, wired for electronics and computers. a bar in the corner, a fridge...be able to live in if you had too (for short periods of time).
a gun room and a reloading bench. xbox 360 with black ops. remnants of dead animals hanging on the walls and adorning the floor. a bathroom. maybe a hot tub? grow lights? nah...
a heated drive in shop off one end. a pool table, a foosball table, a ping pong table...
cigar store native american standing in the corner (by the bar)?
any ideas....free advice?

Perfect for those days when you just want to hang out in the shop and shoot the crap.

FWIW, mine is a 30x40 insulated metal building (no windows) with interior sheetrock walls and suspended ceiling. The 11" space behind the drywall was filled with blown cellulose and there is bat insulation above the suspended ceiling. Concrete construction builds too much pressure when the reloading bench blows..
 
I have my room and the lady that lives here only to annoy me has her room.

Mine is 24 X 24. It has an entries to the garage, dining room, back yard and master bedroom.

It contains several guns in safes or cabinets, a massive amount of camera equipment, a desk, a PC, a laptop, three telephone lines, a lazer color printer /scanner, a 42" flat screen tv, four chairs, a coffee table, a fireplace, a credenza, two file cabinets, five book cases and is plumbed for a wet bar but I figure I can buy at least two more guns for the cost of a wet bar being installed.

The walls are paneled and filled with photos of the love of my life, a 1957 Chevy Bel Aire convertible.

The computer system has dual wifi tied in so those parking their RVs in my drive will have internet connections.

Now all it needs is a broad minded 40ish female, in good health, not real ugly and a great body to visit often
 
Several years ago I decided that I was tired of my reloading area being relegated to the basement. I moved it to the 4th bedroom on the upper level of my house, it is now a combination gun room/reloading area. I purchased several pieces from the unfinished furniture store, my reloading bench is a baker's table and I have additional presses on a rolling microwave cart. Powder/primers/bullets are stored in a small bookcase, all of this is finished to match. I installed three eyeball lights over the reloading bench in order to have plenty of illumination. A Bose wave radio provides the music and the closet is used to store hunting clothes/boots/backpacks etc.. The walls are covered with my collection of sporting art, prints and vintage firearm advertizing. I am working on getting a small TV and wish there were room for a recliner. It has really turned out to be a man cave deluxe. You may notice my press is mounted to the bench with a quick change base of my design, that way I've only drilled one set of holes in the bench. Pull a couple of pins and slide whichever press or accessory you want into the base plate, quick and easy. I made mine out of aluminum since I am also a home shop machinist, I have seen similar set-ups made out of wood that work just as well.

Mine will be in this 150 year-old farm building after I restore it.

I have been giving the man cave idea some thought. I think that a man cave should be more then just a place to go and do reloading or a place to drool over your guns. I think there should be more. A place to work on your car. A place to store your collectibles. A work shop. It should have a bar, a small kitchen to make snacks, A stereo system. A tv with dvd. A computer. All of the necessities of being able to go into your room and stay there for an extended period. Maybe even be your safe room in case of an emergency.

If only I ad the money.
 
My Step-Daughter made me a sign that hangs in mine "What happens in the Man-Cave STAYS in the Man-Cave"

Sounds more like a "man mansion" than a man cave.:)
 
A lathe and a milling machine is a must. I could not get along without mine.
 
I wouldn't argue the merits of the Ferguson. But I believe a urinal would be good. We found a pile of them in a dump back in 1988. The buddy who was with me wanted to scrap them all for the cash. They were stainless, probably destined for a jail some place but maybe unsuitable. I vetoed scraping them all. We took one back to his garage/shop. In the winter it was cold going outside the building to take a leak. He asked the foolish question "how do we make a hole that big in the metal siding? Foolish boy, its what shotguns were designed to do. First one wasn't big enough (we were too close) so a step or two back adjusted the hole size to a more acceptable size. No trap, just an elbow and an "out tube". Yeah, it froze one winter after that. We thawed it with a torch on the inside. Once you got the trapped liquid boiling (you could tell by the bubbles in the bowl) it melted its way to freedom in the toxic waste area behind the garage. No one in his right mind set foot back there!
 
I kinda have two 'man-caves' at my house. There's the garage/shop, with my wood stove, stereo and all my tools for my machining projects and current 'jalopy' work, then my 1/4 of the basement with my computer repair stuff, a tv, laptop, futon, gun safe, etc. In the garage I have my 'country urinal', a funnel and hose ran through the wall, downstairs I'm pretty much out of luck unless it's an emergency then there IS the floor drain...
 
Right outside the door to the man cave is a wet bar/kitchenette. Inside the man cave is a desk, computer, small flatscreen, book case, file cabinet, safe, car art and the all important leather recliner...
 
I want nekked ladies, lots of nekked ladies. They don't have to be pretty, just look good nekked. I know, it's crude and not PC, but hey, it's me.
 
Mine is fairly simple really. The finished basement with furniture and antique hunting and fishing gear and some old wall hanger guns and bows.
Off that is a utility room with my reloading/gun bench and my safe.

I spend time down here everyday and my friends like it too.

my man cave is the garage. kind of cold out there today.
