Manufacture Date Model 19-3

Anyone know how to tell when a revolver was manufactured? I tried searching for it but couldn't find it anywhere. I have a model 19-3. I know the serial number is needed but I don't know how much is needed and would rather not put the whole number unless I need to. Thanks in advance.

Chris - Welcome to the forum!

We can likely narrow it down to a particular year if you give us MOST of the serial number.

For example, 2K1234XX - make sure you get the right number of characters - it can matter. Just obscure the last couple of digits with XX if you are concerned.

We can't get you an exact date of shipping - you would need to request a letter for that (and it costs $75).

Sure thing, the number is 7K787XX. I just didn't know how much I needed to include to get a relative date.
