Great entertainment this afternoon in the local HS Auditorium. 60 piece traveling version, and they were absolutely first-rate. If you have a chance to see them, don't pass it up.

Saw one Sunday at the Texas State Fair.

The Marine Band and the USMC Silent Drill Team are both great and are real national treasures. John Phillip Sousa really put the Marine Band and patriotic marching music into the public eye for good.
I'm glad to see Big Tex has reemerged on the State Fair Scene like the Phoenix. It was a sad day when this icon of my childhood caught fire in 2012.

All of the service Bands are a treasure. I wish they would play at all the major sporting events, rather than hiring the drugged-out airhead performers that we have to see today. Hearing the National Anthem played by a great band installs great pride in me.

While attending the FBI Academy, I was fortunate enough to be invited to Marine Corps Barracks, Washington (aka 8th &I) for Friday Night Parade - no words to adequately describe the experience. I have goose bumps as I type! If given the opportunity, every American should attend. Semper Fi!!
Had the pleasure of hearing this incredible band a few years ago at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena Texas. They played a wide variety of music and not just march music. I enjoyed it immensely.
