Not me! I have 2 Marlins without the safety and I think they will out last me. If I ever need (want) another lever gun I will buy a used without the safety instead of new with safety. Larry

Finding nice ones at reasonable prices is getting harder every day. It seems the $500 pre-safety JM guns are a thing of the past.

A cross bolt safety does NOT belong on a lever action. The Winchester version is hideous. Another thing Marlin did do right, is they kept the half cock notch, and not that stupid rebounding hammer on Winchester. Still not an excuse for Marlin though.
