Nice!

I've been obsessing about lever guns lately, and that Marlin would have come with me too if the price was right. I've been reading about all the straight-walled cartridges, so .444 would be very cool.

I bought my 444 in the early 70's. It has a 24 inch barrel and the Monte Carlo stock. Powerful game stopping cartridge.

Scoped it to day Crossfire II Riflescope 4-12 x 44 DEAD-HOLD BCD (MOA).

Mine has a 50mm Red Dot on it. When my eyes were younger, 5 shots as fast as I could using a pistol target at 50 yards. 1.5" with a stout hand load, usually 3/4" with 300 grain factory. Mine is an early Guide Gun with the 45-70 ported barrel.

I have read that some 410 shotgun shells can be chambered in the 444 marlin. For very close work it is ok. But longer shots will spin the shot due to the rifling. Just a fun fact for possibly peat control.
