Here's a couple more of my cased hardened Marlin lever guns.

The Marlin model 39 was manufactured from 1922 until 1936.

Both of these rifles are marked Marlin's Firearms Corporation. One has an an S prefix and is star marked indicating exceptional fit and finish (S153xx) and the other is serial # 54xx.

Those are real beauties! Do you know when they were made? I'm thinking maybe the 50s?

I've only got one Marlin 39 and it was made in the early 2000s a few years before they shut down New Haven. It's a nice rifle, but I'd love an older one in nice condition. Love the non-checkered stock.

Those ^^ would be 39A's. The ones pictured are Model 39's--the forerunners. Notice the S shaped pistol grip and the octagon barrel. They were made 1922 until 1936. The no prefix rifle is earlier, the S prefix rifle is pre-1932. Factory records with exact dates are unavailable.

The 39A model that I bought last summer.

It even came with factory glass that is still clear and quite usable. I had to dial it into the ammo that I was using, and it worked fine.

What you have is a Model 39A ...not a Model 39

One I always wanted but never got!

I had a cousin who had a 39M. In 1983, in high school, I earned enough to buy myself a .22. I told the dealer what I wanted, he said "Sure, I can get one but they're awful expensive." He convinced me to buy a 10/22 Deluxe Sporter. I still have it, still love it, it's scary accurate. But I still have regrets...

That is one rifle that I dreamed of getting years ago! It never happened, and my dreams changed. Finding one with beautiful original case colors is not an easy task. Yours are definitely drool worthy!

Those are beautiful. One of those guns I bought and then sold and have regretted selling ever since. Some of the coolest guns ever conceived.
