Marlin/Ruger now shipping 1894 .44 Magnums

Three things Ruger still needs to work on.
1. Lose the ugly ramp and hooded front sight.
2.Forget the stupid sling swivels.
3. Most of all get rid of the dumb cross bolt safety.

My 1970s carbines don't have any of that junk and work just fine.

I don't mind any of those and especially like the sling swivel studs. The vast majority I see around here had them added they didn't originally come with them. But Bubba can't ever seem to get them straight or not chip the wood. They also tend to stick them in the old Marlin bullseye for some reason.

You can probably buy them cheaper than that if you shop around. I don't think Rugers have ever been priced outrageously.
The cost of Rugers has gone up considerable over the years. I always thought they were a little clunky but they were a good "workingman's gun". With today's prices I don't really see that anymore.

Yeah figured they were around $1200. Should have grabbed a Marlin original 40years back. Sure are nice though.

I'm still waiting for Ruger to churn out some 77/44s. Rep told me they'd start soon. At least they're doing correct caliber
