Boys...The wife and I are heading out in the morning to spend some time in Matagorda, annual Boil Blast.

Live music, cold beverages, and good food.

I'll be taking along a few things to trade, never know what you'll find.

Looking at the line up here, I'm not sure what number 3 is exactly, but I think I'll stay away from it.

Horseshoe Contest (Sign up in advance or before 10) starts at 10AM

Washer Tournament begins at 11:00AM

Corn Hole Tournament begins at 11:30AM

When I saw Boil Blast I immediately thought of a post summer clear-up of everyone's zits.

That third one is very popular here--the beanbag game--and I'd bet fewer than fifty per cent of the folks who play it know the origin of the term. I've told a few, and they were horrified.

Riverbend restaurant. Shrimp Poboy with onion rings for lunch. Grab set of binoculars from rack and watch wild hogs feed across the river while you eat. Spoonbills for supper. Try and slow down the pace may send you towards a nervous hospital.

Make sure you have plenty of ice and aloe lotion at hand. It's a rough sport.
