Hi all,
I've got a fine Mauser 1914 7.65 that I hate to see sit in a drawer when I've got some place it could be more useful. Don't want an argument about the usefulness of a .32 - that's not the point. this gun would be in another pocket to balance out other carry weapons. A .32 is not my choice of a primary carry gun, I've got better.
But I'd like to find a decent holster for it. Probably a pocket but I'll look at the details later. Well, you know how things work these days, if it's not on their list, they don't have a clue and can't be bothered to help. So nobody makes a holster for a 1914, suprise suprise, it hasn't been made for 96 years. Anyway, anyone either have one to compare to a modern gun, or can measure their modern gun to see what's close?
I'll attach a pic for those who haven't seen one.
It's 6" overall length.
4 1/4" overall height.
1" width at the slide.
2 3/8" from muzzle to front of trigger guard.
1 1/4" from top to bottom of slide before the trigger guard.
2 3/8" from top of slide to bottom of trigger guard.
1 5/8" from front of trigger guard to front of the grip.
4" from muzzle to front of the grip.

Sorry for the ammount of data, but I like to be accurate.

It fits in a Desantis Nemesis that's made for my J frame.
But I'd like to see if there's anything better. So any pocket auto that's close will help.
Thanks.

OK, so for what it's worth, my buddy got a Hi-Noon pocket grabber for his Sig p238. My .32 fits superb as far as grip position and trigger guard coverage and placement. The only thing wrong was the overall length is long so it sticks out about an inch thru the open bottom.
Desantis suggested a walther as a potential comparable gun.
Any thoughts?

Thanks for the response. Like I said, it wouldn't be my first choice of a carry gun. But why leave it in a drawer at home when I've got an extra pocket.

I'd personally get a better, more modern gun like a P3AT (unless you're already carrying three or more), but I think you're doing a smart thing by getting a holster made for the 1914 provided you intend to keep it. If you have to send out a BUG for service, or (hopefully not) it's stuck in an evidence locker, you can press the old Mauser into service. ;)

Perhaps it runs like a champ and I'm as wrong as can be.

The old gun is in excellent condition. It came back as a trophy from WWII. If it had been fired at all before I started, I'd be supprised. Dad's unit was in on the capture of Erfurt - a german weapons manufacturing town. A couple of fine guns came home with him.
And it would wind up being 3rd carried if/when carried at all.

Yeah, he's no longer with us. The only thing he messed up on was throwing a fully auto broomhandle Mauser, with wooden stock/holster overboard cause he didn't have room in his duffle bag. He did come back with some fine guns and edged weapons though so I can't complain.

Hi guys.
An old thread and things have changed since then. Have other replacement CC firearms. So the 1914 is a retired treasure from my dad.
As I said in a pm, it was captured when they captured the factory. Black plastic grips, probably unfired till I got it. Not even a full box thru it now. It's retired.

Thanks for the current comments though.
