Since S&W is the preeminent maker of revolvers in the world, maybe they would sponsor matches like Glock does. I'm sure they already do. but I was thinking of a simplified bullseye match or even a mail in/internet match. The archery association I belonged to did a national mail in, and it was lots of fun. Maybe 30 rounds Slow Fire at the NRA 25 yard Slow Fire Target and 30 rounds Timed Fire (5 shots in 20 seconds) at the NRA Timed and Rapid Target. It might be better to use the 50 foot target so it could be done inside or outside. I left off the rapid fire string as it might prove to manic for first timers. Any centerfire revolver with iron sights, or maybe a class for scopes, and classes for rimfire. Probably better to keep it simple. I am talking out of my hat here. S&W may have rules about sponsoring shooting events, I don't really know. I do know that the more people we get involved in the shooting sports the better. It also shows a sporting use for our firearms. I have nothing against the run and gun type events, I just wanted to keep it simple.

Smith and Wesson sponsore ICORE and the IRC, the largest revolver action pistol match. check out their website at ICORE.ORG.

ya I want to start shooting the ICORE match up in Ashland. I will be starting at BGSL as soon as I can as well. I want to shoot in both the Enhanced service revolver and the standard service revolver, and obviously am a model 29 guy. I am going to get my -10 cylinder serviced to fire full moon clips so I can shoot both!!! It really is worth it to me for 100$ plus moon clips, and since I carry the 29 too, I will be able to re-load if need be!!!
