Well aware of that thread

There's already a thread about the Russia / Ukraine problem on down the page.

That's why I posted a new one because when I checked, nobody seemed to have commented on the existing thread about that train station attack.

I do believe the public and probably board members as well ARE getting tired of the daily onslaught of depressing, sickening news out of Ukraine.

I mean baseball season started yesterday and for me it was a welcome respite. I'm a Cardinal fan and they won 9-0 over the Pirates!

Nevertheless, I believe what's going on in Ukraine is absolutely the single most important event of the post World War 2 era and warrants our attention, even when it's so unpleasant to read and think about.

Outrage fatigue sets in. It's inevitable.

I'm old enough to remember how, 30 years ago, we watched civilians getting killed by snipers and occasionally slaughtered by mortar shells in Bosnia for over three years on the nightly news, and most Americans reacted something like "Meh ... oh look, beanie babies!"

Human nature, I guess.

Hospitals........
now train stations............ !!

I sure hope they get hit with War Crimes !!

Since when is civilian lives, fair game ??

I think may of us are in a "who do you believe status" since it doesn't seem you can rely on anything being reported.

This is my view, as well. I'm almost to the point of believing the opposite of what is reported.
There has been mass murder/genocide all over the globe, specifically Africa, and not a lick of coverage.
Wonder what the difference is?

That's easy. There's western media all over Europe; most of Africa and SE Asia, not so much.

I was working near Marawi City, Mindanao, Philippines, on Eid in 2014 when Abu Sayyaf members slaughtered a busload of Muslims on their way to celebrate Eid al-Fitr on the island of Sulu. Twenty-one men, women, and children were killed outright; nine more died afterward.

It never made western news, despite CNN having a Manila affiliate. Picture that happening and being ignored in Estonia.

It's so hard to be Putin.

The good news is these atrocities aren't 'disappearable' in a modern world. Battlefield forensics personnel from a number of nations are collecting evidence now, as Russians leave. Thus far, there is investigative predicate for:

-Targeted killings of thousands of civilians

-Targeted destruction of civilian buildings

-Russian soldiers raping women

-Thousands of Ukrainians kidnapped, taken to Russia

-Blocking humanitarian aid to Ukrainians

-Targeting and killing journalists.

Putin could ask Radovan Karadzic or Slobodan Milosevic how this turns out.

Me???? I'm ready for a 3 day vacation, but not from here on the forum because of my comments.

Up dates on what is going on over there, and view points can be gleaned from other news sources besides those of the media, Hollywood, and politicians. from the U.S.

Just my opinion

Phenomenal insight!

Yeah, the crimes of Hitler during
WWII and those revealed after
the war were so overhyped. And
now it's Putin's turn to be pilloried.

Your talking about specifics, I'm talking about in general. I never said it was over hyped, you did.

I said a lot is propaganda and all sides do it. You are army, a well known General (Patton) ran a big thing including a mythical Army that was going to storm the Pas de Calais. (it worked)
