Md-29 4" value question

I hit a shop a few days ago and saw a very nice Md-29 no dash 4: blue smith sitting on the shelf. I would rate it at least 96% with just the slightest bit of muzzle wear. The bad part is it is wearing non diamond Magna grips from the mid 1970's. He is asking $1699. I would have a hard time spending $1000 for this one since the Cokes are long gone. I would love your thoughts.

I'd spend over 1000 but not over 1300 without cokes.

I would be in around 1200-1400. With stocks they go over 2000 in a hurry plus I just really like the build quality of those years.

$1400 would be absolute top dollar for me. I think that would give me enough of a budget for a lengthy search for some nice cokes. That's just me tho...

His asking price would be fine if the Cokes were on it. A little steep for not having them. Finding them is not easy as we all know and they're so pricey. Maybe the seller needs a little educating on the price and then see where he really is.
