Another -1 has found it's way into my collection. I think it is a pretty nice example. I am sure they are out there but I have not seen any Md 48-1's. Have you?

I like it, Jim! That's the first one I have seen.

What the heck is right! Nice W&S!:)

Hi Jim,
Nice Revolver!! You're right you don't see these -1's very often, but they're not as hard to find as the No-Dash 48's!! They only made the 48 stamped one's for a matter of months in '59!! One thing that's unusual about yours is that it's a Three-Screw Frame!! It must be a "Really" Late Production -1!! No matter,it's a really fine example in any case!!

Masterpiece-the picture may not show it but mine is a four screw. I guess I need to look for a no dash.

Am I missing the joke? - In one pic it says Smith & Wesson and then next Wesson & Smith.

How'd That Happen????

Jim,
You know he's right!! Just exactly how did this happen!! I'm taking for granted you're using a Digital Camera for photos,Right?? If not,I can see how this might have happened!!

Oh,by the way Jim,I can see how maybe I missed the Triggerguard Screw!! It must be hidden in the shadow of the Middle Photo!! Sorry,Old Eyes!! I thought maybe you had run across something unusual!!!

My son got creative and wanted me to post his PhotoShop work. I could hardly say no to my only child. Wesson & Smith would be a rare one.

I have not seen any -1's or 4 inch 48's in my neck of the woods. If I saw one, I probably grab if it I could...

Well Done!!

Jim,
Tell your boy for me he did a great job!! Thought something might have been fishy when I saw the "What the heck?",but didn't give it a second thought until I read the other post!! When I looked at the photo again I caught the "Wesson & Smith"!! Excellent Job!!!

I agree that you don't see many of those. In my neck of the woods, the model 48 in general is not seen that often, let alone a -1. I've only encountered 3 for sale. I've never seen a -1 in person. I've only seen one in 4" for sale, a -2. Needless to say, I bought it. It came dressed up with a beautiful set of factory smooth targets:

Nice photoshop work, btw, with the Wesson & Smith! It was so good, I didn't even notice it!

Nice, I would have purchased this one myself but I couldn't bring myself to making the commute. Hope she shoots well, keep us posted. :)

Maybe people on this thread can tell me about the round.

I am curious as to what kind of performance can be expected out of the .22 magnum round out of a revolver with say a four or six inch barrel. Is it a fifty yard coyote round? A hundred yard target round or what? Just curious.
