Measuring front sight height.

Where do I measure the front sight height? Is it just the sight its self of do I measure from the top of the barrel, center of the barrel? Im obviously confused.

A lot depends on what it is you're trying to do. If you are just replacing the front blade in a sight that allows that, the height of the removable blade above its base is what you usually measure.

The ballistics programs seem to want the height of the sight from the center of the bore.
