Went out and tested my two new 17 rd mags from mecgar. Nice. Feed fast and very solid feeling. I did have one mis-feed but I was using some new ammo that had a flat nose. The Winchester "Clean" ammo. That is only the second time my 5906 has misfed in 16-17 years so I am not to worried :-)

I went ahead and put them in my rotation.

PS: the ammo was VERY clean to shoot. Cleaning when I got home was easy.

I have 2 of the 17 round Mec-Gar magazines for my 5906.

I have never had a problem with either of them. I loaded some (500) cast, short flat nosed bullets, and they fed just fine. I couldn't get the round's OAL anywhere near spec, without having the lube groove outside the case mouth.

My 5906 just eats everything I feed it. The only thing I've done to it is polish the feed ramp to a mirror finish.

I have 4 17 rd 59 series MecGar mags for use in my 5906, 6906 and my KelTec P-11. MecGar is the OEM for KelTec BTW. Quality is very high.

They are the only mags I have for all three of my Hi Powers. Excellent quality.

The OEM SW99 magazines I have seen are made by and have Mecgar on them. I believe they made other magazines for S&W too.

I have use MecGar mags in a number of different guns. The only MecGAr mags that were problematic were the ones for the PO16-40 and PO18-9. In both cases they would not hold the slide open after firing the last round.
