When I was in engineering school (ME) I wrote a FORTRAN program to generate the running stats for my softball team. Runs, hits, BA, errors, SO’s etc. Had to keep track of who owed the end-of-year party fund dimes and quarters for wiff’s and watched SO’s. It was a game-changer a few years later when I learned about spreadsheets.I got my Aerospace Engineering degree without the use of the internet. Hand held calculators had just replaced slide rules. We used FORTRAN and Basic to run extreme calculations; others were cranked out by hand, mostly on paper.

Yes, you should change your master password every few months. The answer to the rest of the problem is to use a password manager like LastPass or KePass. I use LastPass and it can generate passwords of just about any length and complexity and can log you in automatically if desired. Icon sits on the toolbar of your browser.
