This Memorial Day weekend is a very special day for me and my family. My Dad was born on May 25,1909. He pased away in May, 1983. He was a Christian, WWII vet,a Chevrolet dealer, a rancher, hunter/fisherman, and the best father anybody could ever hope for. I miss him dearly. As a tribute to him and his special place in my heart, on Memorial Day I plan to take his 1930 era golf clubs (wood shaft Robert Jones brand) to Glen Garden Country Club in Ft Worth for a (my) final round of golf.(He used to caddy there with Hogan and Nelson before they went professional.) Later, I hope to use his Iver Johnson 20 ga single shot for some fun shooting in our back yard.
Thank You DAD for your leadership, love, and a good life. I haven't forgotten what you taught me.

I don't do anything in honor of my father's birthday. My daughter was very close to him, and still is easily upset if his passing comes up, so for now, we tip-toe around the subject, to some extent. Someday, things will be a bit better, I'm sure, and we may do some things in honor of Dad. He liked to float rivers, so I imagine we may do some of that. It is good to remember our Dads for what they were. I haven't forgotten, either.

My Father just passed away in March. He was a D- Day vet and worked hard all of his life. This man never asked anyone for anything, He managed to make do for us somehow. He raised us to be honest and hard workingand I miss Him.

My father was a retired Navy Chief and WWII Veteran. He died in 1976 and was buried with full military honors at sea. I always think of him and all those other men and women who served our country through all the wars.

His youngest brother, my Uncle Ed, is the only one of that family who is still alive and is also a retired Navy Chief, he followed his big brother, and is a veteran of WWII. He served in the Merchant Marine and then went to regular Navy. I call him every Memorial Day and thank him for his service. He is 86 now and probably won't be around too much longer. I am a Navy veteran too.
