I hit the local Academy 3 days a week looking for ammo. I am looking for really scarce stuff, like 357 Sig. I usually get there a couple hours early to get near the front of the line.

Since today was a holiday, I figured there wouldn't be a delivery truck, so I went by right when they opened. I was surprised to see 30+ people in the "ammo line" so I went in, but didn't expect much.

They had the biggest supply I have seen in months - even after 30 people had picked their 2 box limit. They still had 10x200 bulk packs of WW 9mm (I got 2 of those). Also dozens of boxes of other pistol and rifle calibers (but no 357 Sig).

I then drove to the other Academy , which is 6 miles away and they had a equally large supply. They were already stocking it on the shelves since the rush was over. I picked up 2x100 bulk packs of 40 S&W there.

I don't know what to think - is it an anomaly, or is the supply coming back??

They might have been holding back stock for the Memorial Day Sale crowds. It has happened in years past.

The Academy closest to me continues to get more ammo than they sell. Last Friday they increased to purchase limit from 2 boxes to 4 boxes for handgun and rifle ammo and 10 boxes (or 1 case) for shotgun ammo.
