Mercury Morris has died

I have long been a closet Bills fan.

Dad took me to my first Bengals game in '68 when they first formed. They played home games in UC's Nippert Stadium. They beat the Chargers.

Hooked ever since.

Because the Miami Dolphins used to own the Buffalo Bills. Morris was part of it. The Bills recently beat the daylights out of Miami. It was a reference for football historians.

That’s a pretty lame justification to hijack a thread in which I wanted to honor the life of one of my childhood heroes and borders on being disrespectful to the death of a great athlete. I could say more, but I’ll leave it that.

Get over it. Many others commented on other teams, other cities and other athletes. I did not attempt to hijack a thread.

Read the room. Your comment completely ignored the subject of the thread. That makes you a thread hijacker.

Don’t worry, the Bills may someday get past first runner up, but I bet the Lions or Browns beat them to it.

Sir, If you had wanted to Rah-Rah your team then you should have started your own thread. Not tried to hi-jack this one.

You can’t be serious????? If you need a hug or something I’m sure someone can help you. Good grief !

The NFL in the 70’s was not the gold mine that it is today. Most of the contract money was not guaranteed, and if you played before the early 90’s, you weren’t in the pension or health insurance plans. Morris was a vocal advocate for change in that regard . . .

I never really understood how somebody who made as much money as he did had to get involved in selling drugs. He seemed to have everything going for him.
