This is the time of the year to wish all a Merry Christmas, or whatever Holiday you celebrate. And I do...

Also a pause, yesterday I got an early call, a good buddy of mine, was hit(rear ended) as I was told, on the way to Nevada to look for retirement property. Bill just retired less than six months ago and was an armorer for years, before he promoted out.
The accident took life of his wife of over 35 years ,an ER nurse. He is messed up but will survive, And of course the no DL, no insurance, driver was well enough to be booked.
We always assume we will go first, at least I do, fat , HBP, etc, but I quess that's not 100%.
I sure spent a lot more time hugging on my wife last night.
Be grateful and live each day as hard as you can, cause you never know. Take Care !

Yep it is bad time for bad news. My step daughter's husband just told her he wanted a divorce. What an........ I am guessing his new fling gave him an ultimatum so he figured it would be a great xmas present. What a dog doing this just a week before xmas.
So often holidays are ruined for people. Such a shame.

gman51: Had the same thing happen to me years ago. Crushed when it happened. Later, I realized it was the one of the best Christmas presents anyone ever gave me. Married to my present wife for 35 years last week. Three beautiful and wonderful children. When someone drops a load of manure on you, till it into your garden and see what a great crop you will harvest later.

As to losing a wife, there just nothing good to say. Take a knee and an eight count. Re-group and see what you can gather of your life and decide what to do after the grieving. He has to be in a dark and scary place right now. I pray God consoles him and lifts him up. Help be a crutch for him until he walk again.

Good for you.

My dad beat some long odds before he passed on 3 years ago. He outlived 2 wives and 2 younger sisters. Maybe there is something to clean living.

Prayers for your losses. The drunks always seem to survive and other innocent parties always suffer.

Peace to you, your buddy and his family. Death comes as a thief in the night, the only truism being that only the good die young(er).
