Herretts does not offer mesquite as an option for their grip materials. They will use your wood. For Roper grips on a square butt "N" frame they require (2) pieces 3-1/2" X 6" X 1".
Pictured is a mesquite plank I purchased today, it measures 5" X 24" X 1-1/8".
Where would you take a set of grips??

Thanks

Nicely done grips are a good way to dress up a ho-hum looking gun, and make it fit you better! I always say, you can't have too many sets of grips! (wood) Bob

Where? Say away from the checks, cracks, etc. Personally I'd look for that portion of the plank which had the richest most colored figure. The rest of the plank could be used as needed for other sets of grips. Don't know what mesquite wood cost. If it is not so much, you might want to send several sets of grip blocks and have them produce grips for a number of your revolvers/pistols. JMHO. Sincerely. brucev.

Mesquite. We got a whole regional forest of it around these parts. Acres of the stuff on our old place. From what I hear it's a bit difficult to cure properly so that it won't check and crack. Also is prone to wood beetle infestation as it cures.

This M36 has a set of Arizona Mesquite stocks from Hogue. These were from back in the day when you called Guy Hogue and he told you what he had for wood lying around and asked you what you wanted!

Mesquite...hmm. I might have to get some of those! Please post some photos of the finished product!

I bought some Cordia and really like it as a stock wood.
