I was going through my collection of pictures and found this. I don't know where I got it from, just seemed interesting at the time and saved the photo.

Anyone with any experience know how hard this is to do? My m66-1 needs a new insert, and orange epoxy isn't nearly as neat-o as brass or even a blued piece of steel would look nice I think against the stainless.

Any ideas, thoughts?

An insert can be hand filed and fitted to the dovetail and secured using epoxy cement. Still, the contrast between polished brass and stainless won't be nearly as dramatic as between polished brass and blued steel.

Some of the old tymers (Keith, et al) would have horizontal gold wires inlaid on the front sight, and designed to provide a reference for amount of sight hold over for long range shooting.
