I just got a box of 357(X3572P) 158gr. metal piercing ammo. Nickel cases with pointy tips. It has the white super X box. What is it worth? Is it anything special? Any and all help is appreciated.
The Winchester 158AP load has been made with several styles of bullets, all slightly different, but with the same profile.
I've seen single rounds selling for up to $2.00 ea. A full box can easily fetch at a minimum $50 and I've seen them auction out at as high as $80 a box. They're definately worth holding on to as collector ammo.
Thanks Collector. I dont really collect ammo and I dont see myself ever having a need to shoot through steel plating. Where would I offer something like this for sale?

Probably the easiest thing to do is go to the local gun shops and see if anyone there would like to buy it or see if they know any local collectors who may be interested.
If no luck there, sign up on the Internationa Cartridge Collectrs (IAA) forum and post it in the Buy/Sell/Trade section. The members on the IAA are serious collectors and will offer a very fair price for the ammo, if they're interested.
Lastly, sign up and post the ammo on Gunbroker or Auction Arms websites. Though, this may be more of a hassle than it's worth for you to go thru an auction website.
