I sold some ammo and needed to ship it, and UPS has clear instructions.
“
Cartridges, small arms may be shipped only through a UPS Scheduled Pickup Account using various UPS pickup services or through a UPS Customer Center (counters at UPS operational facilities).
Cartridges, small arms are not accepted for shipment via UPS Drop Boxes, and may not be tendered to or dropped off at locations of The UPS Store® or any third-party retailer or UPS Access Point™ location.”
A pickup from my house is about $25, and I’m too cheap to do that. So I searched for “UPS Customer Center” near me. Long story short, there ain’t any. In a metro area of a million people, there’s no such place. I thought I found one, but a sign on the door said it closed last August.
So I took it to a UPS Store with its pre-printed label taped on, and the slack-jawed kid just scanned it, printed my receipt, and said have a nice day. She didn’t look at the 4” diamond symbol on the side, no questions or comments.
So obviously you CAN ship ammo through a UPS Store, because that’s all there is.
