Does anyone know how many extensions you get from Michigan Unemployment Benefits? How many extensions did you ever get? Any info would be helpfull.

This is from State of MI's UIA website:

Filing instructions for the federal EUC tier 1 program (20 weeks of benefits maximum) are mailed to unemployed workers who are about to exhaust their regular state benefits. When workers exhaust their EUC tier 1 benefits, the second tier (13 weeks maximum) is calculated automatically and a determination is mailed to workers showing the additional weeks of benefits. Workers do not need to apply for EUC tier 2. They simply continue to call MARVIN.
So apparently you get your regular benifits (26 weeks, IIRC) then EUC tier 1 extension (20 weeks), and finally EUC tier 2 (13 weeks).

Here's a link to the page with full information:

Every night I pray. Let me see if I've got this right.... One week per year of service at the company as severance, or 19 years. Then 1 week of untaken sick time, plus another 2 weeks of vacation. That would be 22 weeks, plus 26, plus 20, plus 13 = 81 weeks! Party time! Oh the suffering I'd endure. I'd be right at 63 then, and I could just apply for SS then instead of when I'm 62. 3% more per month? Sounds like a dream come true.

I'm wondering about the same thing in Tennessee......Looks like our plant is shutting down soon.

I think here you can get 26 weeks, then a 26 week extension, then another 20 weeks after that. I read this in the newspaper. It's not official information
