I ordered some of the once fired .223 brass from Midway and it came yesterday. I still need to decap it and resize it but it is beautiful brass, not all dented or discolored. If you are looking to pick up some brass for loading I would recommend it. I also picked up a couple of 50 round bags of new Winchester 30-30 brass also $15. At that price I can reload using the new brass still cheaper than I can buy ammo for, plus I make better ammo than I can buy. Handicap Deer Season starts in Kansas in the morning so I am going to be ready but I will only take about 5 bullets with me. 3 for the 30-30 and two for the 308. I have 3 tags to fill...LOL

Wow. That is a deal on once fired brass.

+1 on hand loaded ammo > factory ammo

Hmmm??? no brag just fact ????????? why the 2 extra bullets?

Frank, I am not perfect, and I have been known to get a little overexcited when a nice big fat doe comes into view....I think they call it deer fever..LOL
I will probably take a box for each gun. I am still trying seriously to figure out what guns to take. I really want to take a deer with my Rossi92 in 45lc. I usually just load up the magazines and then come home and unload them when I am done, you know how far I have to drive. Because it is still warm weather I only plan on taking one a day. I have to dress it and get it to the processing plant before it spoils and if I shoot 3 tomorrow dressing and skinning will take late into the evening.

It's called "Buck fever". Yea, last couple deer that found themselves in my sites at twilight never knew how lucky they were. I usually walk further when hunting than you drive. On my way from your place to I-40, I saw several good size deer. But there was one buck that was huge. It's front half was protruding from the edge of a cornfield.

Here the deer grow large, they eat the same the that the cattle do so there is not a wild gamey taste. Because we have the farm leased to some guys from the southeastern US to come hunt for big bucks. One of them has a TV show even we dont hunt for bucks, that would be stealing. but we do hunt nice big fat does that taste real good and dont have the scent glands.

Still dont have a clue which rifles I will take. I keep changing my mind. I know I am crazy!!!! LMAO :D

Just an FYI......

I ordered some once fired 7.62 NATO brass last month from a company called 5.56oncefiredbrass.com. I had my order in less than a week.

I paid $125 for 1,000 pieces delivered. It was already resized, deprimed, trim to length, and the primer pocket crimp was swaged. I intend to run it through my sizing die before I use it as the brass will be loaded for my .308 FNAR. Another nice surprise was that about 95% of it was the same year LC head stamp.

They handle 5.56 brass too, but right now, they are out. I believe the price on that was $75 delivered for 1000. Suppose to be back in stock around Oct 1st. It's a Mom & Pop run company....and I enjoy helping out a business like that.

Does that midway 223 brass need to be trimmed shorter to be correct case length ?

So far I havent had to trim any of it. I resized, decapped and chamfered. I have one of those little nylon bags that women use to put their undergarments in for the washing machine. I put the brass in it after I resize and run it through the dishwasher with a load of dirty dishes to get the lube off of the cases. Then they are ready to go. The case length has been perfect on these.
