Back in 1989 our UK S&W distributor received a "Million Dollar Club Award" of an engraved and cased model 627. I wonder if anyone knows how many of these were awarded, and over what period the factory issued them?

The fantastic SCSW 4th Edition by Supica & Nahas does not mention this variant in the area for the 627. I did not scour the rest of the book to see if it appears elsewhere.

This revolver is modern enough that it's possible an e-mail to S&W could net you some information.

A million dollars back in 1989 was probably 2,500 model 686 revolvers, and we could own them back then!
Probably about as many as were sold by one decent US gun store!

Me thinks you over estimate the US market place. OTOH, there probably isn't a time limit on the sales. Possibly a trinket for overseas outlets?
