How many of you guys use Talon Grips?

Sorry but never found a need for any grip aid add on on my m&p even with underwood hot 40sw loads .

I did have the granulate texture Talon grips on my original Shield and liked it. I haven't felt the need to do so on my M&P 2.0s or my Shield Plus since they've got more aggressive grip texture from the factory.

I've found that a small strip or two of the 3M tread tape made for something like ladder rungs is an excellent enhancement without all the real estate covered by Talon grips. It available on Amazon, a roll will last a lifetime, stays put but comes off cleanly.

That sounds like a good idea. Could you post a link to the exact product you use?

I put Talon grips on my firearms only when I'm not comfortable with the grip on a new firearm. I have 2 Talon grips, 1 on my Barrette 9mm APX, and 1 on my KelTec Sub2K 9mm carbine. The APX OEM grip is way too aggressive for me, the Sub2K OEM grip was too slippery and short for my hands.

I have a CZ 9mm that is a bit aggressive also. I've been thinking about putting one on that too.

Having said the above, my S&W M&P EZ shield 9mm is the perfect fit and grip, "for me", that I've ever had, it's 2nd to my PSA Dagger! (S&W is single stack and more comfortable to wear in my belly band and easier to conceal)

Interesting. That's the first time I've heard of someone using a Talon to REDUCE the aggressiveness of a grip. Makes sense though.

I have the Talon Black Rubber Grips on my Shield 9 1.0 going on 10 years now. I followed Talon's installation instructions and have no problems of any kind so far. They have worked well for my XL hands, giving me just enough size increase to shoot accurately and efficiently. YMMV

I use the rubberized Talon on a few pistols. Both of my CZ P10C's and my P07 have them. Like the guns, hated the grip texture. My Gen 1 Shield 9 has one because for me the original texture just don't grip well enough. I like the texture on the Shield 45 but it's a little rough on skin if not wearing a tucked T shirt. One of my .45's has it, the other doesn't. One is carried when it's warm, the other in cooler weather.

I have a talon rubberized grip on my Shield Plus and Glock 48. I added it to the glock because the grip was a little too slick for my preference. Conversely I added it to my shield because the aggressive grip (which I otherwise love) would snag on the lining of a vest I sometimes use. In both cases the talon works well for me.

I have them on a Shield 9MM. Don't remember why I did that.

Have them on a couple CZ plastic framed pistols. Never felt the need for them with the 2.0 M&P pistols.

I have them on both my gen 1 Shields, 9mm and 45 ACP. Also on my XDm
Compact. The M&P 2.0 Compact doesn't need them, the grip is perfect the way it is.
The 9mm Shield is my EDC and the Talon grips have held up very well after 12 years of use.

I put the rubberized version on my P365 when I got tired of my hip being sandpapered after a few hours. They made all the difference without changing the shooting characteristics of the pistol.

I use rubber Talons on most of my polymer framed handguns with some exceptions. Exceptions include my Shield Plus models as Smith got the overall frame texturing right. My wife's Bodyguard 2.0, like the Shield Plus doesn't need it. My Glock 19's grip is blocky enough without adding any extra to it.

Like another poster I have used Talons to reduce an aggressive grip texture one time. I bought an M&P 2.0 compact when they first came out and Smith went wild on the grip texture. I sanded some of it off but then put on rubber Talons and it works well.
