I've had this pistol a little over a year, I racked the slide a thousand times and dry fired it then put exactly 1000 rounds through it, not one malfunction. It's my open carry weapon, woods, camp, fishing ect. I ccw a S&W Shield. I bought a M&P pro the other day and decided I just like my SD better. Anybody else feel this way?? I do have a question anybody ever try a Crimson Trace LTG-760? I know it's specifically for the M&P but I think it would be pretty close on fitment.....also apex trigger kit? Worth it?? I've got a 6# trigger now. Thoughts?

The Apex spring kit is definitely worth it. Transforms a so-so gun into a capable service weapon. I carry mine daily.

When I bought my SD9, I think the M&P9 was $100 more. I picked both of them up and held them, and the SD9 just felt better. End of discussion. Bought the SD9.

I was also very pleased, as I got to learn more about it, at how much of a Glock clone it is. I didn't like all the fussy safety stuff on the M&P's my LGS had.

It took me quite awhile to learn to shoot it with any semblance of accuracy. Given the high cost of center fire ammo, I could not practice nearly as often as I would have liked. In general, though, I really like mine. I think it was a good deal. I like my Glock better, but for $200 more, it SHOULD be better.

My biggest gripe is the trigger, and I think it's only a matter of time (and budget) before I spring (pun intended) for the Apex kit to see if that helps.

I've got both an SD and an M&P (the SD has the Apex spring kit and the M&P has a full Apex CAEK and RAM).

The M&P certainly is the better gun IMHO, but when cost is factored in, I think the SD is the better value.

I'd say that the SD is 85% the gun that the M&P is at 60% of the price.

Hmmm, I concur. I've had an sw9ve for about five years now. GF just bought m&p the other day. I'm sure it will be a dream to shoot with the better trigger, but the ve just pleases the hand better.
